Hi, I’m Deepa
Thanks for dropping by
It’s great that you’re interested in me and what I do. Hopefully I’ve told you everything you need to know about my photography, so I guess you’re here to find out a bit more about me.
What I do…
My work is documentary style photography and I’m based in and around Leicester – but what does that actually mean for you?
My photographs are about showing you, your life and work, as it really is.
I can only get these shots because the people I work with are able to be relaxed, they trust me and - even those who dread having photos taken - enjoy the experience we create together (I know, they’ve told me).
Why I do it…
I love photography, particularly the chance to put you at the centre of your picture.
In our lives we’re always busy doing, or watching what others do. Too often, when we stop to look at ourselves, our instinct is to look critically. We rarely see ourselves through someone else’s eyes.
I want to capture the you everyone else sees, and your family as you see them.
Will it work for you?
I’ll get to know you and what makes you smile; we’ll make it work.
I’m relaxed, I love what I do so the process is fun for me and I think this is what makes it fun for my clients too.
Working with kids is great, before my daughter was born (Aurelia is my little chatterbox) I developed some tricks to get the shots we wanted. Now I know how limited that power is, but it still works on little ones who don’t live with me!
A number of my clients have come back – from business to family sessions, or follow-up mini shoots to capture the changes. That means the world to me and is great for someone who likes to keep up to date with people’s stories.
